Can't find green short fur fabric?

I cant' use CR Crafts because I can only pay with PayPal (which rots, let me tell you.)

I need a dark green and a lighter green (not lime) faux fur fabric. Short, it's going to be used for a plushie dragon suit. I heard plush fur sucks...

I've never bought short furs before so I have NO knowledge on this and need some help. What other sites can I use and what fur do I buy? Thanks.

Large tub container?

Ya know the large action packers/totes/containers. Where do you all get them from? Ive been going nuts looking for a sturdy container for my dealer stock items when i travel to cons. It must have, or be able to have 4 wheels added to it. I don't really like Rubbermaid's, they tend to be a bit flimsy especially when i ship them to cons and back. Ive had them crack and fall apart on me before. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

Looking for:
Super large container for my dealer stock
Must have 4 wheels, or option to add 4
Must be sturdy
A long handle would be nice but not necessary
No rubbermaid
Needs to fit in a car (i have a 2 door hatch back)

First Bodysuit! (and first full fursuit with fur!)

I say first full fursuit with fur because my first "fullsuit" was my Princess Luna cosplay which was done with fleece and no fur. I still have some tweaking to do- especially in the front. I did a front zipper but it's not as well hidden as I would have liked it to be. If I feel ambitious, I'll try to take the zipper back out and install it in a side seam instead.

For a first bodysuit with fur, I'm about 95% happy.
It's exciting to have a full suit now :)

Woes with seal

I'm fooling around with a tail made of seal and I just can't seem to keep it from looking lumpy. It's a very simple pattern for a dragon tail.

A.Not stuffing it tightly enough?

B.Should be all-foam?

C.A shiny slick seal will always look a little lumpy?

feet paw questions

Mainly on the soles. What do you guys use for outdoor soles? I might be taking a commission for feet paws soon, and we're still establishing if they want indoor or outdoor feet. I've got ideas if they want indoor feet, but not sure on the outdoor ones. Anyone have ideas? My biggest thing is they want them to be RED and I can't think of a material that's already that color that I could use. I think I remember someone posting a link to shoe sole material on here?

Also, paw pads -- for outdoor feet what would you guys suggest? I'm considering purchasing premade ones but I'm concerned since they're thick they will be uncomfortable (plus they're for a rabbit so they probably wouldn't match anyway)

Thanks guys!

I really have looked everywhere for a place to get some (and a lot of them seem out of the country and require HUGE minimum orders) but I have seen some people make paws with it so I figure there must be a way to get some. Is there a website that sells this sort of stuff you guys would recommend? I'm looking for red. I found one website but they only had whites and browns and I'm not sure how I'd be able to permanently color something like that.

Resin casting help!!! D:

Okay, so I was just casting my base, and I don't think I mixed the parts well enough... The resin never cured. I thought I had mixed them well enough, it looked very consistent...but I was slush casting for over 10 minutes and nothing cured. I'm really sad and confused because I really thought I had mixed it well enough...and I'm also really worried about my mold and if I'll be able to recover from this...

Please help if you know what to do! The base is out in the laundry room right now propped up against some stuff so the resin goes into the nose. The resin in there is setting a little but I'm so worried D:

What do I do?? It wasn't very much resin; maybe just half a dixie cup (the little ones)

EDIT:
Okay I went back out and checked on it. It seemed to be set up fine...
I did another layer but it just seems to be taking an extremely long time to set up. I don't know why.

Suits for suits

So, for this year's FWA I am creating partials for my sister and I to wear. One is a silver fox with a skeletal face, the other is a pigeon griffon. Both characters will be wearing gangster-inspired suits and vests, with the fox topping out with a hat and cane.

My question is for the sizing of the suits. I know that you are supposed to select clothing that will fit the character, not the actor, and thus we should go a bit on the large size. However, as these are partials there will be nothing underneath to help bulk out the suits, and I'm afraid an oversized suit will just look sloppy hanging off of us.

Due to the foot style of the partials, I'll be making a pair of slight digitigrade padded legs, just to emphasize the shape of things. Should I do something similar for the chests? I'm not worried about shoulders, as the suit jacket for the fox has padding there and the griffon's shoulders are fluffy. I'm worried, however, that chest padding will make things far too hot for us to cavort comfortably. I also don't want to end up over-emphasizing the chest and changing the gender of the characters (both are male).

So I want to order a DVC small K9 resin base and I want to try my hand at making my own suit. I am actually really nervous about it and I feel like that would hold me back from trying to make it. My head that I have now was made by biopelt. Don't get me wrong I love this mask and I will keep her forever but I just want to try making my own suit. Any tips and advice you guys could give me would be great! My fursona is a jackal

I want it to look like her and with people helping me I really feel like I can do a great job on it. I am just to scared too and don't want to order a base if I feel like I am going to ruin it. Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

sock paws

Okay, so as a side project I'd like to make some sock paws eventually. I'm going to carve some toes (obviously) but I'm wondering about the rest of the foot? Does anybody suggest adding more padding for additional structure/shape? Progress pictures would be awesome!

I'm going to be starting digitigrade padding soon, and I need some good, cheap pants to wear under the suit and to attach the padding to. I would like the best option for the smallest price.

Does anyone have some large rust fox monteray mills fox/long(3") scraps to make a neck. I'll also take a quarter yard(half of a half, not like.. 6" wide by 60" long lol) or half yard or whatever you have laying around.

Food in costume?

I'm finishing up a velociraptor costume for a con in about 60 days...cutting it close but I'm really just hoping to finish in time!

First time posting here, but I plan to wear the suit for a pretty long time at the con. I don't really know exactly how long but it'll be quite a while. While the con has food, I can't eat any of it.

I'll be able to take the head off to get breaks and get water while wearing the head (although I'm not sure if I have to use the bathroom since the legs are what I don't want to take off). But what about food? To eat I have no problem with removing the head and hands, even unzipping the front down so I can get air while I eat. The costume has feathers though on the torso.

What should I think about taking to eat? The hotel is not connected to the center. So, no cooler. I have celiac so I can't take anything with grains or lecithins of any kind. I know this isn't a food community but I figured maybe someone here has some ideas for me. I don't want to take anything crummy or gooey either. I've got NO ideas. Everything I think of has to be refrigerated, that I can eat anyway. I can't eat any granola bars or Kind Bars or Lara Bars or anything like that. This just really sucks because there's just nothing good! :\

Thanks!

Hi! I've been in the fandom for a while, and I decided it's time for me to attempt to make myself a fursuit! I consider myself a decent artist, but I'm also one of those people who tends to put things off because I'm afraid it'll turn out badly :p

Anyway, I've been working on foaming on a balaclava base. I've read through lots of tutorials here and other places, and I think it's coming out pretty well so far for a first attempt! It's my first time ever working with foam, as well, and I'd love to get some critiques before I go further.

Here is my progress so far.

More photos here on flickr: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjQTDBw8

I'm going for some sort of toony canine with a bit of a shorter muzzle. I'm in the process of doing up a ref as I work on her, which I know is sort of backward. Her name is Frappe, and her color scheme will be based on a caramel coffee.

I still have quite a bit of trimming to do, and I'm going to add some more foam by the corners of the mouth to make it "smile" more. I've also made one ear, and I'll make the other tomorrow. I couldn't get a decent picture of it since I couldn't hold it on the head and hold my phone at the same time, which leads me to my question.

I know a lot of people cover the top of the balaclava with foam as well, but I'm pretty sure I've seen some people who fur right over the balaclava on top without any foam in between. It seems like it would be a bit cooler to wear that way, but I'm not sure how I would attach the ears. And if I went that route, would I just need to sculpt the top of the brow and cheeks down so that they blend into the balaclava? (If that makes sense.)

I'd love any general constructive criticism you guys could give me as well. I'd really like this first head to turn out decently, and I'm willing to put in the time and effort (and research) to make that happen! ^_^

SO not sure what

How to do feral-ish padding? Bear Suit-

$

Hello everyone! I'm not too sure how to actually do padding. I'm unsure if I glue it on the dive skin or sew it onto the body....I don't know what to do. I've never tackled this, if I can't figure it out I'll probably look for a body suit quote.

Anyway my sona's a semi-feral bear so she will NEED padding. Ref: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12535232/

I really don't want to commission a suit of her mostly because I don't want a skinny twig bear. lol.

A Hood for Janus?

Hey all! I've come across a really dumb problem... the back of my beloved Janus is nonexistent.

Sorry the  pics are so large. I have no laptop and  have been using my Kindle to frustratingly post this.

I'm not quite sure how to fix this. Is it possible for me to put it on a balaclava? Or maybe make my own hood? The jaw is seperate from the head and I haven't made a neck yet so maybe that's a better option...

Thanks for helping!
