Cleaning Fursuit feetpaws!

Hey guys, today I had my first real fullsuit outing in Devin. Now I live in a very rainy place and as luck would have it, it started pouring on the way home. As fate would have it, this place is full of trees, leaves, dirt ect, and without an alternative my feetpaws got filthy!

So the first thing I did was take them up stairs and start cleaning them the way I clean my plushes... I gently wet them with a running faucet, angling the paws away so the foam wouldn't get to saturated with water. (As fate would have it though they still ended up soaked) and that washed up most of the debris, pine needles, leaves, dirt. I then took a bar of scented soap and gently lathered it up while water was still running to keep it from soaking or sitting on the fur. Still not white, but not dark brown!

That along with combing it, and my paws are almost back to normal condition... well, except... there are still little bits of debris that I think I'll have to wait until things dry to brush out. After the second brushing, I'll wash again to try and get the fur white, using surface wash and woolite.

So what's my question?

Well, first off, how in danger is my foam work right now? It's not like a head so i'm not to worried about it, but I'd like to keep the life long. Two, what's the best way to dry it? I'm thinking no heat tumble? Three, any suggestions for getting the teeny tiny bits of debris out?

Thanks guys!
