Yay, I sewed something!

Well, I figured it was about time to put the fleece on the beak of my puffin-suit-in-progress, since I'm just about done with the feet (save for some accents and the subject of this post). Before I did, I read around for some tips since I've never used fleece, and I definitely took to mind the "sew your seams" motif that always popped up. I put all the fleece on the beak, and then I figured, yep, sewing time!

I picked an inconspicuous seam in case I messed up, because I literally have never hand sewed anything before except for one button (and with buttons you can't even really see the thread under it). So I'm feeling pretty proud of myself now for sewing by hand instead of by the machine that does everything for me.

I just wanted to check to make sure I'm doing it right, since like I said I have really never hand sewn anything before. Here I have an image of the seam I sewed, right next to other seams that have not been sewed. I think it looks better, but I can't really be sure since I don't really have the experience to tell.

..or I was going to but for some reason the image isn't showing up so I guess not.

And then a slightly closer up photo in case that helps anything.
