sockpaws??

I'd like to start out by saying I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong place!
I've never used livejournal before. ):

I'd also like to mention that I have no experience fursuiting and I just need to make simple sockpaws for a cosplay I'm working on, but I'm a total dummy and even though I've read through a lot of tutorials for how to make them, I really just can't get it right whenever I try! (I accidentally cut out my pattern pieces backwards once ahaha .. . )

My main issues are as follows;
- I'm fairly certain I'm taping over the foam wrong? when I cut off the tape for my pattern, they won't lie flat, and they also stick to the foam too much and pull some of it off (which I'm not sure is a huge issue?)

- My feet are kind of narrow and I was wondering if that might be an issue of some sort visually?? The toes look a little weird on a thin base...

- I'm unsure where to have the seams / where to cut the duct tape off of my base. Do you cut around each toe individually?

- Lastly, the fur I got is admittedly kind of cheap (It doesnt need to be extreeemely high quality for my costume though, ahaha!) and it's a little difficult to make seams look nice. This kind of goes with the question above, I'm not sure how to make seams look nice and not as noticeable, as well as where they should be
