Hi guys,
Since I'm now on my fourth draft of the head for my costume, I'm going to put it aside for a bit before I pull off my OWN head. XD I'm trying to plan out the tail for this thing now, and I'm having some woes.
I have a taxidermy foam tail base that I'm going to be using for my Haku from "Spirited Away" costume for AX this year.

(I'm actually using Jonas' longer, 41" African Lion tail, but that one doesn't have a photo.)
It's fairly hard and stiff, but is still poseable and curve-able.
How would I go about furring this so that it remains somewhat poseable and doesn't get too bunched up or strained in the "curves" when I bend the core?
I was planning on just making a triangular "sheath" of fur that is the same length of the foam core, and more or less its same width, but I'm worried that if I curve the tail at all into a new position, that will put strain on certain areas of the tail, and cause fur to bunch up/lump up in other areas. It could even cause seam ripping on the "top" of the curves.
Here's what I mean. The foam tail is drawn in blue and the fur "sheath" in magenta. My apologies for the crappy drawing - I'm left-handed, but I use the mouse right-handed >_>;
I was thinking that I could just make the fur sheath a little longer and wider than the tail, but that might make it look baggy. Should I make the fur longer and wider, and stuff the area around the foam tail with polyfil?
I did have a poke through the Memories, but most of the poseable tail tutorials/info have to do with tails either made from wire, or bits of pool noodle/etc., and this hard foam base is a bit different.
I know this is a bit of a weird question XD Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you!
