fursuitlounge before posting. So that is why I'm here. Plus this place is waaaay more active.
I've only gotten into furry fandom in the past few months. I've watched hours and hours of people's con videos and tutorials and general awesomeness. I've always loved art, animals, and performing, and now I can satisfy all my interests in one hobby! :D
I am making my first fursuit, a female canine mutt who is unnamed at the moment.

does she look girly enough?
also, does it look alright for a homemade suit? I'm really nervous

She is an all-foam head with a moving jaw with toony plastic bowl/buckram eyes (which are not attached yet!). The fur I am using is fabric.com's luxury shag caramel and white (:
All I have left to do on the head is shave it, make and attach a nose, make the inside of the mouth, and fur the lower jaw and neck. I might want to airbrush eyebrows or something in the future, but that's not a priority.
Annyywayys, the suit isn't the main focus of this post.
I'm definitely planning on going to Furry Connect North in April (SO EXCITED!!) I've never been to a convention before! Also, I've never even seen a fursuit other than mine in real life!! I've watched soo many con videos, that I think I may be starstruck when I actually go to a con. I don't know. I'm so terrified of what my reaction might be because of all this built up excitement. Plus anybody I've seen in a con video will be like a celebrity. Soo yeah...is this normal?
Also, I have a bunch of questions about furry cons!! (these are based on all the videos I've watched)
Are they always 90% male?
How often do people wear their suits?
What do people do when there aren't any events or panels going on?
Last one: My boyfriend and I live a 30 minute's drive away from the con. Should we just make the drive there and back every day or get a hotel room?
