Best fur for a toony bear?

I'm attempting to make my fursona, and I'm looking for some input on what the best fur would be for her. I saw the brown and caramel luxury shag on fabric.com, and thought it would work. I asked some other people who said the cubby from crs would be best because it's more realistic. She's a toony character, though, so that's not really an issue. If I would use that, I'd probably get nutmeg, and the short ginger(for the muzzle). My main concern with both is pile length, and shaving. Obviously, I wouldn't have to do much with the cubby route, except add in fluff where needed. If I went the shag route, I'd have to shave the muzzle and part of the face. I'm completely comfortable with a pair of clippers, since I buzz my own head, complete with fade, on a bi-monthly basis.
I guess before I babble anymore, which would be the easiest to work with? Which one is softer? Anything else you guys could add to help?
