Digitpants Questions

So I'm starting on my second project! It's gonna be for a cosplay and not a fursuit this time but it'll have a few suiting components! Namely digilegs, tail, and Paws.

So these are the plans for the digitigrade legs! I'm gonna use SparkyCanDo's slim digitigrade tutorial with a dtd of my lower half but one thing I can't figure out is how to fur them.
Option 1: It's all connected. So like, the foam padding is under one fur 'skin' with the feet attached like how Saber Sparky's is. This would work fine, but I don't want indoor feet. I'm going to have a normal cosplay over it, so an outdoor photoshoot is pretty likely. Could I just glue to Eva foam to the bottom and include it in the fur skin?

Option 2. I could do them in two pieces. With a paw 'boot' like shown here. http://fursuit.livejournal.com/6348073.html#comments
But the main problem is that I'm using short fur. I'm gonna use the 'plush' fur from Mendel's in rust. Would that cover the seam enough? Or would it be too obvious?

And this is the plan for the tail!
Pretty simple really, I'm putting a wire in it and a foam base for stability. Will a small wire be strong enough to stick up from the bottom of the dress skirt?
Thanks for any help!!
