questions about fursuit eyes

im a first time fursuit maker, and im planning on making a partial sometime in the spring and i have tons of questions, but i guess ill ask one for the time being

i dont want follow me eyes, and those are the only ones that seem to have detailed tutorials, and instead i just want plain toony eyes, and while looking at some pictures of fursuit heads, ive noticed some of them have glossy looking sclera, which look to be some kinda plastic

my question is, is there a name for this material and where can it be bought? also does it impact ventilation by a significant amount? (i have reactive airway disease/asthma, so i'd like as much ventilation as possible, so if it makes a big difference, please mention so!)
