How to store faux fur?

I'm stocking up on fur for my next project, and I currently have 4 different kinds (more to come) that I need to store away for the next seven to eight months. How should I store the fur so that it won't crease or mat? Is it safe simply to fold it loosely and set it on a large shelf in a cool, dry area?
