Hey guys!
I have a Janome HD1000 sewing machine (bought new). It did pretty good when I sewed my hands and leg panels, some parts I had to manually feed the faric through, but it did alright. When it came to the bodysuit.. it was not happy. XD
It sewed perfectly fine, however I had to pull the fabric through the needle most of the time because the feeddogs didn't pull any of the fabric through. At some parts I had to sew through 6 layers of fur (the main body panels, the arm, the bat neck fluff and the doubled-over fur for the wings), and I managed to break a total of 24 needles, varying from #18 to #11 because I had to manually feed it through whixh caused the tug on them to vary (and break them), and sometimes the neddle would just get tangled and I'd have to break it to get the fabric out.
So my question is; do any of you have recomendations for machines that can hold thick/big needles (I have a few upholstry needles from my grandma, thry're about 3x the size of the normal needles I have) or a machine that has a walking foot and better feed dogs? I'm getting ready to make my next fursuit and I don't want to go through the same thing again.
Thanks all!!!
