So I'm currently working on my first body suit which is taking a lot of patience due to my utter lack of sewing experience. I've got the McCall's pattern and my test suit. I regretfully opted out of a DTD since I don't have my own room and therefore lack the space and it's just for me. So, the test suit was obviously way over sized and fit for someone 6in taller than me and the crotch was way low. Anywho, to compensate I am planning just to pin in the middle area to bring the crotch up. But I've also considered cutting it and rather making a two piece suit, (pants and torso) with over lapping in the middle to hide skin but also allow for more movement and well easier to remove. </p>
The character is simple, the markings are primarily on the legs themselves and a stripe down the back so matching up exactly wouldn't be an issue. But I'm more concerned about excess bulk where the fur would overlap and how it would look. I guess it'd be like turning a 3/4 partial (with fur pants) and adding a torso? I'm sure that's been done before but I can't seem to find any posts talking about this. Anyone have experience with this? thanks!
