So I know how stupid this sounds for posting here, but I need help. My sewing machine is out of commission at the moment, and I have been sewing every day for HOURS, by hand, and now my index finger is raw x.x I tried to use a band aid, tried using a thimble, but all these things do is inhibit my ability to make a proper stitch and it slows me down. If I try to use my non-dominant hand, I notice the stitches do not hold how they are supposed too.
Has anyone else ever been thru this? If so, what can I cover my finger with so I can continue to sew? This got so bad a while back, a blister actually formed. I think its because of the repetitive motion of the needle rubbing across that finger, or that fact that I grasp onto the needle the same way every time.
