Temporarily " Zombie-ing" a suit

So there's a Zombie Culture Festival ( yes... zombies are a culture now apparently) that I'm heading to and I want to go in my bird fursuit, Honeydoo ( A terrifying name).

She already has a cateracted eye and looks pretty mean, but I'd like to 'bloody' her up for the occasion. Obviously, I can't go throwing paint on the head but I wondered if there was someway I could attach little wounds, like these to the head. The thing is, it's a resin base in the front half so there's nothing really to stitch through. Any ideas? Would velcro work on fur?

I also didn't know whether to stick a coathanger threw her somewhere...
