Casting Rubber Noses

Hello, I've just recently made a clay sculpt nose and it's looking pretty nice. So now it's time to cast. Trouble is that I'm unsure what material to use. I'm going to make a few out of resin using a silicone mold yes.. but I'd also like a few squishy-type ones.

I've never cast in latex of silicone before so I'm just really unsure of the material properties and what reacts badly with what mold material types. So can anyone give me some advice?

Can you maybe tell me the pros and cons of the two materials and a comparison in terms of:

- what would you recomend for picking up the most precise amount of detail?
- what is easiest to work with?
- what is most cost effective?
- what has the most durable finish?
- what end result is easiest to paint / what looks the nicest painted?
- what are the setting times?
- what does each material need to be cast IN (ie, what does the mold need to be made from), also what release agents are required for each?

- Also, if I wanted to use latex or silicone for pawpads, would it be at all possible to hand-sew them onto the handpaw instead of just glueing? Otherwise, what would be the best way to attach them?

This will be extreamly helpful so thank you very much!
