I wanted to ask, is this normal? And has anybody been experiencing this?

(((I can get photos to better explain this, as soon as this evening on Friday.)))

Back in March or quite a bit ago at the start of 2014 I had shipped some white faux fur either from Fabric.com (most likely) or DF. It was shiny, smooth, elegant, and beyond amazing compared to what i've had with other color shags. It was dearly amazing to me, and it matched perfectly well with black and some red shag I had for the fursuit it's for.

This past month has been harsh. I've gotten white shag fur samples shipped to me, one from DF and one from Fabric.com. This time it's very stringy, appears longer, and the backing is much lighter and more breathable. This to me is a bad thing, and it has caught me off guard severely because now it's resembling something more along the lines of the texture of DF long pile fur or even monkey shag more than longpile standard shag fur. I had DF Lavender shipped to me also with this batch, and it's ALSO stringy and even way darker than normal, and possibly longer but less dense. Just like the white shag.

Is this normal? I'm even doubting this new white shag would even match the old white shag, because it's feeling and looking longer and the backing just isn't giving me any happy faces now that it's thinner.
