Hi guys! It's been a while.
Anyway, sometime in the future I really want to make a fursuit/cosplay of Senkro from the Spectrobes video game series. Since I'm not planning anything really solid yet, I just had a quick question about the fur (or in this case, feather) direction on the legs. (I'm still going to call it fur, just for simplicity.)
According to Senkro's design, the black fur on the upper legs points upwards, towards the waist, whereas a more realistic animal would have fur flowing down the legs. The fur on the lower legs, however, maintains the more realistic downwards direction, apart from the spiky ankles.
So for this fursuit, I was originally planning just to make all of the fur flow downwards. However, I was also considering following the original design, and have it flow upwards above the knee and downwards below the knee - perhaps beginning from a point on the back of the leg. But my question is... would this even look good? The spiky fur would look funny with the fur flowing the wrong direction, but I was also concerned that the knee would look funny because fur is pointing in two different directions above and below it.
