First Fullsuit (general questions)

So! I was actually expecting to build my first fullsuit for FWA 2015, but after ordering about 4 yards of grey fur from two different places that almost exactly match in texture (it was on sale), I decided that I might as well take a crack at it. This is going to be part learning experience, part 'I-hope-this-turns-out-well-enough-to-sell'.

Head:
At first I wanted to make this suit all my work, except claws and paw pads. The more I work with the design, however, the more I think I want to get one of DVC's resin blanks for the head. I know moving jaws are more valued when it comes to resale, and I'm going for a semi-realistic look. Also, having the resin blank to work off of would help me keep everything in better proportion.

-Would bulking up a small feline blank work? Cheetahs have a less dramatic head shape than tigers, lions, ect., so I'm afraid I won't be able to reshape a large blank as well as I want. On that note, would I have to stick with the small jawset and nose as well?
- For 3-D eyes, do you glue two half-spheres together and paint the curved back? Or paint the flat back of one and then glue them together, so the painted surface is in the middle? I've read the description and I can't seem to figure it out.

I've mostly figured out how I'll do everything, even if a digitigrade first suit is a little ambitious. I'm hoping to have her completed by FWA 2014, along with a pair of partials and some other odds and ends.

Some general advice, ways to avoid common pitfalls, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I like to look through the memories, but sometimes the information gets jumbled up.
