Cheap solution for one-time builders...

Hi guys! I've been lurking around here, posting occassionally. I'm finally starting to build my fursuit! The first problem I ran into was getting a head form to build it on to, since I'm doing the balaclava and foam method. I only plan on making two, maybe three fursuits total EVER, so I didn't want to go out and spend a lot of money on the head forms scattered all over the internet.

I have come up with a cheap fix to that problem! Using the styrofoam heads from Sally Beauty, I put model magic onto it to make it life size. Pictures below the cut!

If you notice at the bottom, I added some to make it even, rather than the awkward tilt that the head originally sat at. The dimensions are now just right for building my fursuit head.
Obviously it's not smooth enough to sculpt over if you're making a clay sculpt for casting resin, but it's a quick fix for my purposes :] Total I spent about $15 on the styrofoam head, and two packages of model magic.

I would recommend doing it in layers so that the model magic has time to dry ,since it seemed to take a couple of days.

I hope this helps some of you!
