Eye line-ing - How do YOU do it?

Im doing a corgi partial. Balaclava and foam, moving jaw. Got the ears and upper muzzle on and was thinking ahead, def gonna do 3d toony fun foam eyes, I know ima need line-ing around the eyes to make the eyes stand out/separate from the rest of the fur (and generally not look creepy). was thinking black foamy cur to whatever shape and glued to the outside of the 3d eyes?
