So, these past few months I've been planning a CATS inspired style of "fursuit". I use the term like that because I'm trying to find a comfortable middle ground between theater costume and a fursuit. Kind of like a balancing act. We'll see how I do. ANYWAY.
Currently I'm still planning out my 'mask' and doing a bit of research for my unitard. As I mentioned a while back I'm planning on an African wild dog character. Not anyone specifically, although she will be based off one of my own, although she seems to be turning into her own creature in my head.
Right now I'm trying to decide if I should try sewing my own. I'm not sure if needing so many pattern pieces would be something people would not recommend, or if the only problem would be that it's time consuming. I found this online http://femmejolie.myshopify.com/collections/catsuits-1/products/camouflage-catsuit and it's -pretty- close to what I'd like ... I'm just not sure I'm 100% satisfied by it. Especially with the zipper in the front. It -could- definitely work -I think- but any thoughts? It is $90.00 which is a lot. So, if I'm going to spend that much, I figure I want to be happy with it.
Oh, also wanted to ask -- what do you guys think of the unitard I linked? Does it resemble an African wild dog's markings to you? Somewhat? I think it does, but wanted a more universal opinion on the subject. I do think the colors are a bit dark, but still useable if need be. Thoughts?
So, I guess my question(s) is/are cost wise is this perhaps a good choice? Would I be better off trying to paint my own, or sew one together? Or is buying something like this an option I should consider? Thanks so much guys!
