Head foaming preference?

HI everybody!
I need head foam preferences for a fursuit head I'm working on
I've done both ways but want to see what you all think is best!

So do you think this kind is better?

Basically, is it better to have half foam heads w/ balaclava, or all covered foam heads w/balaclava?
I could save on foam, but I've seen a few people use the first method and wonder if it's better..
