Questions for a first suit?

Hey guys, sorry for all the questions, but I would love to get some advice on some things rather than make a terrible suit.
I have 3 questions in regards to what I hope to be a realistic feline suit:

First, I've decided to use fibre optic cables for her whiskers (even if I don't use them for light), but I am unsure on the diameter I would need for them to look realistic and convincing. I want them to be thick but also not look ridiculous, so should I go for 1.5mm or 2mm?

Second, I have sewn up my first handpaw, and it actually fits well, but there is one thing I have noticed. I have apparently over-estimated how much room I would need to leave at the webbings of the fingers for the paw to fit, and now there are some gaps that kind of shorten the fingers a little. I drew a thing to explain this [1] (really sorry for the horrific drawings!!). They aren't uncomfortable, but if this would harm the realistic look I'm going for, or if it is generally a terrible thing to have in a handpaw, I will scrap it and try again. Should I scrap it, or is this OK for a realistic paw?

Third, I'm at a pretty advanced stage with my resin base, but I've decided I'm not happy with the lower jaw at all. It is way too 'long', and not slight enough for a cat, but I really don't want to scrap this, because everything else is fine for me (the base turned out crappy but I'm spending a lot of time on making it work). Like, the eyes are in, and I love how they turned out, and the vision is fantastic. It's just the jaw. I did another thing [2] to try and show what I mean.
What I'm asking is, is there any way I can lop off some of the 'bulk' of the jaw at this point? Would I do it from the top where it connects to the upper jaw, or from the bottom where it is actually shaped? (the bottom is totally asymmetrical right now but I will be fixing that). I was playing around with it the other day and figured out (since the bottom jaw already has bolts in either side to take a hinge), that I can slide the bottom jaw into the top part of the blank, and put the bolts into the drilled holes in the upper, and the jaw still seems to move OK. I drew another really horrific thing [3]. So would this work, if I used foam to fix the shape afterwards? I seriously don't want to scrap this head.

If you have read all this, thank you so much for being so patient!! I am a first-time maker and I have a lot of questions and REALLY want to get this right.
Thank you!!!
