Minky Cuddle fabric?

So, I'm going to be making a My Little Pony-esque fursuit for London Anime Con in July, but I'm not sure on the type of fabric to use.

I'm currently looking at a solid white Minky Cuddle ; I don't want to use fur because i don't think that's right for the appearance (because ponies don't have fur, more like a soft, smooth skin), but do you think this fabric would be right for this fursuit? I think it would, but would like to get an opinion on this (after all, it's not just me who'll see this suit).

Also, if you've used/handled this fabric before, can you tell me about what you think of the fabric? Is it thin, how soft etc?
