Hi! I'm new to fursuiting. I'm waiting for a resin head to arrive in the mail and some resin eyes to accompany it, but wanted to be productive while waiting for the main dish.
I decided to make feetpaws C:
The only foam I have is very, very thin, so I knew I had to find another option to make the toes. I eventually noticed, in my closet, was a stuffed plush of a dog that pretty much had large, round blobs for feet. Perfect for toes. I cut off all four paws (I'm a stuffed animal serial killer! D: ) And glued them to the slipper I had bought for the feetpaws. I took some pictures. Keep in mind, the stuffed animal was made out of some sort of stringy, whiskery fur, but I snipped/shaved it down with scissors after these pictures were taken.
And I wanted to show off my new rad turtle shirt as well. :U
So, I feel ready to slap the fur onto this one and will have to find a new stuffed animal to mutilate for the other foot. I have some questions, though.
I've watched multiple youtube videos on how to make feetpaws, some use a pattern with tape, some just slap the fur right on. Which option gives a more professional result? I don't care about time, as it's not like I'm a busy person, and the time is most certainly worth the final product. So, if taping is the best option... I've heard some people strongly advising against duct tape. Why is this? I don't plan to tape the entire shoe, just the top and the toes. Why would duct tape be a bad idea if I'm just going to slap some fur on after the pattern's made anyway? I don't mean to sound ignorant when I say it, but I have very limited money and materials and don't want to do anything so terribly wrong xD
