Sewing the bottom of feet with fur (to put paw pads on) best technique?

I've always had a problem with thinking up the best technique for this. I'm not sure how to make the strongest seams possible. How do you guys do it? Is saddle stitching strong enough to hold it? Does it just roll and connect with glue somehow?

Just any advice at all would be fantastic. Just for some reason this is slipping my mind.
