Montauk mask progress and questions

Hi you guys!
I just wanted to say how awesome this community is and how much you guys have helped and inspired me!
I wouldn't have made it this far without your guy's informative posts!

I just wanted to do a little progress thingy to show you guys how my mask is coming along and ask a couple of questions.
The mask i'm working on is of my main fursona, Montauk, a wolf/anteater mix.
Progress is quick, and i've done so much in the past couple of days.
Heads up, this fursona is a translation of the dissociation I experience from time to time, and that is why he has such a crazy design!

As you can tell he's not done yet. There's just a couple more things I still have to do before I can fur, like adding the tongue, adding lips, ears, and adding some foam to shape the head a bit more.

I hope that after that he will start to look a bit more like his ref which is below :D

And now for my question. Now that I have the jawset and eyelids installed, I find that the head is just a tad to heavy. This is evident when I open the mouth; the whole head will slide a bit down my face. If I tightened the elastic in the back, would that fix this small issue?

BTW, this is my first resin mask, and the second fursuit head I have ever made. I did not make the base; credit goes to Yeep! on FA for making such an awesome base for me to work with!

And if you guys have any tips on symmetry or anything else, please let me know!
