So I cast my first base, and cut the jaw, hinges etc. But I've been going about smoothing many of the sharp edges from the cutting, and some symmetry and casting issues with a light clay. I only intended to use a little, but now I've ended up putting quite a lot on the base. This is the stuff I've been using:

The mask is still light enough, and it's for my own personal project, but I was wondering if anyone knew if doing this is a good idea? Is this generally a technique makers use? I mean, will this clay need any upkeep that will cause the head to eventually become unwearable (for example will it eventually go mouldy or anything)? And if so, what alternatives should one use to the clay?
(These might seem like stupid questions but I really intend this fursuit to turn out great :D)
Thank you!!!
