My first attempt at building a fursuit head for myself; I was attempting a realistically-shaped coyote with toon-style colors. As you all have probably noticed, it didn't come out very well. :D
With the intent of improving the design for the 2.0, I decided it would be prudent to ask for a second opinion on how to solve the problems that are made obvious in this video; more experienced minds may see something that I have not.
Additionally, there is a less obvious problem. The first time I wore the mask together with the bodysuit(not shown here), with the lower jaw closed, the heat and moisture of my breath rebounded back into my face, becoming trapped until it escaped through the mask's eye sockets; for some bizarre reason, this doesn't happen when I wear the mask by itself, but my gut's telling me I need to improve the ventilation in the mask before I install the eyes. I've got one idea of how that might be accomplished, but on the drawing board, it causes a noticeable increase in the size of the mask; I'm hoping to avoid that outcome if possible, on account of I'm still going for a more realistic shape for the character overall, and making a larger mask would mean having to change the rest of the proportions to match.

Since this mask was a flop, I decided there wasn't any harm in peeling away the fur to get better lighting for these pics; however, it's rather depressing how easily I managed to peel it. XDAnd yes; I did, in fact, use a cheap, store-bought plastic blank mask to build the muzzle onto. I realize that that's probably a considerable part of the ventilation problem and have already erased it from the design for the 2.0, but I have not yet decided what to replace it with; suggestions are quite welcome. :)
