Tutorials on finishing a resin base?

Hello all,

I've gone and gotten rather ambitious and want to make my first try at a fursuit head with a resin base. I've ordered a deer base that is fully cut and assembled with a jawset and eyes and the works.
Picture of the base here: http://puu.sh/1ZecJ
The character to be made: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8470166/

I'm looking for tips on:
- what areas to smooth out and pad with foam (would it look wierd without foam? my character is kind of an evil man-eating beastie ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peryton ), so maybe lack of foam would make it look skeletal and more creepy?)
- adding antlers. i'm scared that the thin resin wont hold them up, or it will crack.
- adding a more realistic nose. right now, the base is more...just a skeleton base. needs fleshy nose. (would prefer to order a pre-made nose that i can glue on. anyone seen deer noses for sale or willing to custom make one?)
- how to attach a sort of...hood or harness to the back, as the base is really only the front of the face
- does hot glue stick to resin, or what kind of glue should i use when attaching the fur?

Pictures and videos would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
