Hi guys,
So I got my cabochons in the mail from:
http://www.delviesplastics.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=DPI&Category_Code=Acrylic_Balls_and_Cubes
I ended up getting the 1 1/2 size because even though this is on a realistic resin blank, I still plan to make it "cartoony". Plus I just really like the size. I will probably use the others in the future for more projects.
Now at first I wasn't sure about the shininess because when I moved it to the side the eye would kinda disappear from the side view. But then I was like screw it I'm gonna glue an eye picture on there and just see what happens. I did just that, printed and cut out a random blue eye picture (although I do quite like it, but have plans for another color) and glued it on with E6000 then pressed it down really hard so there are no bubbles between the pic and the cabochon.
After gluing the back on the eye now can be seen from nearly all directions. It also seems to have a following effect, which is pretty awesome. So I took pics of the eye from different angles. Now please note this is an eye sacrificed for practice. So the paper is hanging over the side and there is glue smashed over the edges.
But anyway, here is the practice eye: grrr....I don't know why this damn Livejournal is giving me fits putting pictures on here. I can't get any of them to load onto here *angry flails*
So I put it on photobucket:
