Fur length for bodysuit?

Hi guys,
So I have a quick question. I am working on a commission and I need to keep the fur somewhat short so I don't have to shave the crap out of the face (no fluffy parts in the head). But I don't want to go too short. I want the body to look good, so I'm not sure exactly how short would be too short?
