In the past when I have taped up my fursuit heads for patterning I have taped the entire thing. I want to save some time and get my fur patterns symmetrical by doing the tape up one side and mirror it technique, but I'm worried that my foam work is just not symmetrical enough.
So my question is just how symmetrical does the foam-work have to be? My foam-work isn't horribly off, it looks nice and I do my best to get everything lined up by eyeing it over from all angles and looking at it in a mirror; but I'm sure if you really got down to it with measuring and stuff some things would just be slightly off. Would this be enough to ruin a pattern? I don't want to cut out a bunch of fur then find that slight differences in my foam work would make the fur sit weird.
I would like to save time since taping up heads is probably my least favorite part of the fursuit building process, so any opinions and thoughts on this would be great!
