Expression help? :3c

I'm having difficulty visualizing ways to make this feline-esque head look happier. My client/friend and I like the eye shape/brows as they are, so if I could modify the cheeks instead that would be super. If needed pupils can be enlarged. Any redlines would be helpful but generally with this post I am seeking ways to make a happier-looking expression. :3

(Friend was also the one who drew the actual iris/pupil so no critique on those specifically please. Also crappy lining is temporary. xD)
