Well, I had a great video post of the jaw movement about a night ago. I furred Callix tonight and my fear came true. I'm really beginning to despise the moving jaw, because no matter what I try, so far, I can't seem to master it or do it "Right". For some reason firstimers can nail this issue with no problem. This is my fourth mask, but my first furring job. This is just a reminder about how my furring experience is NOT equally yoked with my foam base experience. My heads are getting finished faster, but then I slow down to a crawl when it comes to furring. I wish I was the same level with both so I could go at a nice pace. I'm really scared a furring job is going to really screw up my nice head bases one of these days because I'm unbalanced.
My mother had to to tell me to just call it a night due to my exclaiming, grumbling, and grunts of frustration.
UGh! I was so close to having him done within the next two hours. I could have completely finished this guy tonight or rather, this morning. I don't like being told to quit (I have aspergers and when something gets in my craw I get obbsessive and make things worse), but evidence of my downward spiral is visible with the foam on the inside of the mouth. I was trying to pull the mouth back up by pulling the attatched foam down into the mask. It was a stupid thought and now I have to figure out how to clean up this mess that will NOT come clean. My mouth looked PERFECT before I did this.
Now my mask is torn up. I can't keep doing this. I want to sell this thing and it pisses me off I can't figure out what the problem is without making a mess of something I've spent hours and hours on and poured my sanity into until I'm insane with frustration.
More or less, what is wrong and how can I get the articulation I did have, back? Now that I think about it, shaving the jaw or cutting the fur may help a mere smidge. I don't think it will do as miraculous of a job as I'm really hoping for. I didn't want to quit. I was so close to being done, but I'll have to break from this devil for a day or two.
I want him done before our Christmas get-to-gether so I can take him on test runs before I sell him. I have GOT to get started on my personal suit so I can have issues like these and bypass them before a con comes. I do NOT want to be walking around at a con with something lacking or malfunctioning because I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I don't think resting, on my own, will magically help me realize what's wrong. I genuinely do not know what to do for this on my own without unecessarily jarring the mask or scarring it in some words.
