I've been getting various international people asking me for quotes lately...
Sad to say I've not been interested since I've just got done dealing with a hellish Australian order.
The main issue my last one had was the box needed was so large.
And Australia has a lot of regulations regarding whats allowed. I even got it sent back to me because they wanted all this information on materials, fabric weight, length, they wanted tags sewn into the garment, fabric types, and so on.. Least to say I was quite annoyed. This was after the usps screwed up the information on pricing it right for me, accepting it, and so on. - All off and on of going back five days.
I see other people mentioning marking it as a gift and leaving it at that. Do I need to fill out a bunch of extra crap like I listed above when I do that? D
oes marking it as a gift bite you in the butt? Ie - only allowing insurance so high or something like that..
So for fellow U.S. costume makers..
What are good ways for dealing with international?
I really would not want to limit who I can sell to.
I use usps and I don't plan to use any other stores.
Thanks for any input.
Dhl charges almost double, I can do Fedex through usps, and UPS is just as pricey as Dhl.
