Sergal mouth corners; need help!

This is my first time working with a sergal blank from DVC, and I'm having some trouble with the mouth corners. The corners look kinda weird. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? They have been sewn at the corners and I don't want to cut into it without knowing if it'll work.
