I've been digging around to find a good tutorial on making monster paws and have been unable to find one that I would have liked to follow. So, I made my own! I hope this can help someone!

Material list: foam, hot glue markers, some type of lining material (I used fleece), scissors, paper.

These claws will be four-fingered, but if you prefer five-fingered, you can repeat the steps for a fifth claw. They are made completley out of foam.

I first traced my hand on a sheet of paper with two of my fingers placed in the same 'claw'. This will create the 4-fingered effect.

I then measured the distance from the end of the tracing up to my elbow. I was planning for the paw to stop at my elbow, but if you want it shorter or longer, measure to that point instead. I then traced the pattern onto my lining material and added the length to my elbow to the end of the cut out. Make sure to leave plenty of space on the sides of you're arm in ensure a good fit. If it is too big, you can tailor it later.

Then sew the pieces together. When you are done, try it on and tailor it if it is too big in some area. You want a snug fit, but no so tight that you cannot get it on. Keep trying it on until you are happy with how it fits.

Then begin to cut out your claws. The more curved or straight it is is up to you. You have creative freedom with

After you have decided your shape, trace it onto the foam and cut it out. You should only need 2 copies for your thumb and pinkie claws, but 3 for the other two claws. Then trace you finger onto the foam and cut it out. For the pinkie and thumb claws, hollow of half of each one. For the other two, cut out only one and don't do anything to the others. Then glue the pieces together and begin to shape them into your desired shape.

After they are all cut out, slide then onto your glove and make any alteration nessasry. Note that the thumb claw should be slightly rotated inwards.

The next part is optional. You could stuff the hand and tape it up to begin to fur or you can add foam to the arm to make it thicker. To make padding, cut a smaller square that comes to about your wrist and a larger rectangle that reaches to your preferred point of where the arm stops. Place the first foam square on top of the liner without gluing. Roughly shape it to fit with the claws. Do not glue the square and the claws to one another, as it will limit movement. Then do the same thing to the second rectangle. Do not glue both rectangles together

Finish shaping the rectangles so there is no more boxy edges. Everything should be nice and rounded. If wanted, you can add extra empasise or details to the claws like I did with the knuckles. Continue shaping until you are happy with the results. You can then fold over any left over lining on the ends of the paws to create a 'rim'. Once you're happy with them, tape then up and then fur them! Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I have not yet gotten fur to finish them X'D.

These paws are for this WIP suit here.

I hope this helps a bit! Sorry for the roughness of it. If anything is unclear, please leave a comment!
