Fur colors and what pile to use?

I'm making a partial fursuit of my boy


I need the fur color on the nose/paws for his hair in addition to the color on his body.

What pile should I use for each section? Is it best to use all long-pile and shave it down where it's needed or should I get some short-pile?

What fur colors match his colors best (and linkies to where I might get the best option :>)??

(it will be my first fursuit btw :3)
