Help a novice fursuit maker get motivated?

Hey guys. I have a huge problem. I keep losing motivation to work on my suit heads. I start on the foam work, often get past the taping stage... and then suddenly I loose all desire to work on the head anymore. Sometimes I try and start a new one with hopes that having more than one to rotate between would help keep things fresh.

They don't.

I think the issue is that i get extremely discouraged upon seeing them taped up and either thing "This headbase looks like crap" (and often it kind of does) or it's due to my intense fear of furring.

Truth is, I'm GOD awful at furring. my patterns always end up just right in some places, and way to big in others (But almost never too small) I can't put my finger on why. I tape my patterns, lay them sticky side up on the fabric, cut them with a small 1/8th inch seam allowance, and they still refuse to bind correctly. I'm at a loss. A true, complete loss, and it's discouraging me from doing what I love.

Just for fun though, here are my unfinished fursuit heads (And a cheetah tail I just painted)

CheetahTail
This was my first time dry brushing something and I have to admit, I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out. There's a little bit of smudging that I have to clean up (Any advice?) but apart from that I really liked it. If I can get it cleaned up, I'll put it up on furbuy.

And here are the heads.

From left to right

Great Dane: This guy was almost finished, but some how I really flubbed up my patterns. The fur is too baggy and I've been discouraged from working on it. He's the third most recent.

Sly Cooper: The progress you see here on Sly cooper is about three days worth of work and about 12 hours. He was going to be a cosplay for Kumoricon, but needless to say I didn't finish. His ears need to be bulked out and his nose needs to be redone. He's tied for most recent.

???: This guy was originally going to be a cat. Doesn't look a thing like it. He's the oldest, at about two years old. I've been thinking about fixing him up, but I don't know.

Petrified pup: This guy is tied with Sly as my most recent project. The two have interchanged. The wide cheeks you see are going to be home to toony ventilated teeth. The head was designed to have a unique expression (Inspired by: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m.....j7io1_1280.png )) as well as optimal ventilation to give someone with heat/air issues a chance to suit.

Every single one of these heads have been in their exact condition since September. Petrified pup was halted because his ears were frustrating me (I reglued them atleast 9 times, each time one being higher than the other, because I didn't foam the rest of the 'helmet' correctly so the ears rest on weird angles,) Great dane's fur is to baggy, Sly's just WIP still, and ??? Needs to be reformatted completely.

I've decided that once I get past these hurtles, I want to do toony suit heads with incredibly unique, exaggerated expressions.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the help =)
