I'm trying to legitimize the work I'm doing, as while I certainly don't make a living off the suits/parts I sell, I make enough where I feel I should be reporting my earnings.
Originally, I was going to just file a sole proprietorship but it seems I'm hearing about more people registering for LLC's or having that recommended to me. I know it comes with extra coverage and less liability so that's a good thing. I'm just wondering if it is much more expensive, as I'm not a big suit making company, so .. can't really afford to pay tons of business fees.
If anyone has had experience with this, and is willing to share, I'd be thrilled to have a longer, more in depth discussion via email. Mine is Coffeehousedog@gmail.com I'm just looking for advice, and perhaps someone to help me with the process. I've done some research but I have SUCH a difficult time with legalize, it sucks.
Also, I'm looking into selling some things (and hope to have a small line of customizable products) through a website. I'm wondering which is the most convenient/inexpensive place? I've heard a lot of people say Etsy is expensive. I'm considering shopify maybe?
Lastly, people who sell things regularly on PayPal. Am I just being special, or do you have to print labels out or do something a certain way to show that the item has been shipped? Is there a way to manually enter a tracking number, say if I went to the post office shipped something, then got handed a receipt? I know some people I think print out labels when they know exactly how much something will cost to ship, but I'm not there yet. Just trying to find ways to keep the customer informed, and protect both buyer and seller by providing as much info as I can.
