I thought there was a post about this recently but I guess not, and digging through the "Memories" section provided me with no extra luck.
Late 2015 I began shipping internationally (origin is the United States) and have shipped maybe 6 boxes outside of North America since.
My issues are two major factors when shipping internationally through USPS:
1) The value of the item. A few countries I shipped to, no problem, but when I shipped a partial to Germany it was 350€ and the client didn't want to pay that (they did in the end). Is there a way to avoid high import fees or should I just lower the value when shipping?
2) What to call the item. The slip wants you to say what it is you are shipping, I've said "gift" twice and "art supplies" the rest. Does anyone had a better name for a fursuit? (Weary to put "fursuit" on the slip because they'll more than likely rip inside and examine the package.)
Not looking for commentary on who I choose to ship with, just the issues above. :) Haven't had anything lost, broken or smashed in the past 5 years so I think I'm sticking with whatever I'm doing now.
Thanks!
