So I bought some medium-density, half-inch foam. I have a utility knife, two pairs of sharp scissors (large and small), and a new X-ACTO knife. Unfortunately, when I tried to "test" carving some foam, NONE OF THE BLADES (except for the scissors) WOULD CUT THE FOAM. These blades are SHARP. But they only "glided" over it, not shaving pieces of foam. I can't carve just with scissors, or it'll be jagged and uneven.
I already spent a lot on the foam, so I don't think I should experiment with higher-density foam.
Perhaps I should only sculpt with the little scissors? (They actually do a pretty good job, but it is really hard and even more difficult to keep things symmetrical)
Am I doing something wrong?
