Foot paw outdoor sole material?

Okay, so I am not having the best of luck finding out what material is best to use for outdoor soles on feet paws. I've read some about like rubber sheeting or mats. I have also seen some suggestions with EVA foam? Any suggestions as to what works best that you can easily obtain? I saw some eva foam sheeting about 8mm thick on etsy. The price was good i just don't know how durable that would be. D:
