best fur for house cat feet?

Self-explanatory. I would like opinions on what the 'best', most realistic-looking/feeling fur is for cat feet, in your experience(s). The most important factor, for me, is pile length, followed by texture/smoothness. For reference, the character I'm currently working on is a long-haired house cat, but I don't want the feet to be super puffy... also, since I'm [probably] just going to brush some Createx on this for coloring, white/pale fur would be preferable!
