My head looks gross :v

First off, I've never posted anything here or used LJ at all really, so I apologize if I make some kind of mistake!
Anyway, recently I've begun working on my first Fursuit, a partial of some sort of cat.

Here's a ref. sheet of the character I'm trying to make.

And here'ssss...

This. :l I know it's not the worst I suppose, but I'm not really too happy with it. (also don't worry about the red felt stuff, I'm planning on removing that and replacing it with black felt or preferably black fleece if I can afford it.) (Also I will be putting some buckram eyes in there, I don't plan on parading with two giant gaping holes in my face. :P )

Here's some more pictures.

(I know the handpaw may look a bit matted, I'll definitely brush it soon.)

I apologize for the awful pictures. All I really have to use is my phone. It's definitely better than nothing but it sure isn't great. ^^;

I really don't like this thing. :c I have two main problems with it.
For one, I seriously dislike the expression. I wanted it to have some kind of smile, but to me it just looks like a weird straight face. I wanna fix it, but I'm afraid I genuinely have no idea how to go about it. ._.; Anyone have any ideas? (Also if it does help, the head has a moving jaw. The ends of the foam are glued on and controlled a bit with an elastic band thing and a piece of foam on the bottom of the jaw. Not the best method, but I guess it works. I'd prefer to keep at least some sort of moving jaw ability if possible so I can breathe a bit easier, but as long as it looks okay I suppose I don't mind. :3 )
As well, it me it appears really rough and lopsided and awful. :/ I at least really wanna fix the weird lopsided right half of the head. I did actually try to add some foam to try and fix it but while it did help a little, it still looks pretty bad. The head has a TON of hot glue everywhere as well, to the point of where trying to smooth certain areas is virtually impossible. (To be fair I only have two cheap pairs of scissors and a steak knife to work with, really.)

I'd consider starting over, but I don't know if my remaining foam will be enough and I can't very easily buy more considering I still have a few good 2 years before I can even attempt a job and I already blew my savings on the supplies for this and a little fabric for my next planned partial attempt.

I would like to at least say as well that I would HIGHLY appreciate any critique and possible tips as well! Be as rough as you want, really. As long as it's helpful I'm happy! ^^
Anyways, I'd really be glad with any critique or help or whatever. Thanks!! :D
