Greetings, my fur friends!
I'm currently making an elk suit with an ENORMOUS pair of antlers, which I fear will add a lot of weight to an otherwise lightweight mask. Before I tackle mounting these suckers, I just wondered if any of you had any experience with heavy masks and how to manage them.
My last suit had a mask that was about 3.5 pounds, which doesn't sound too bad until you realize that my neck is carrying 135% of my head weight every time I wear it. Ouch! I don't want another mask that will make my neck and shoulders ache so badly after only an hour or two of suiting.
Are there any harnesses I should know about? Shoulder pads? Fancy neck ruffles? I haven't the slightest clue what kind of object would help hold up extra head weight. Suggestions would be much appreciated!
