Suit fur help

Alright so I ordered swatches of MM fox in black and silver. Appearance wise, the silver looks fantastic and the black not-so-much. I knew to expect something rather different, but this was something I wasn't too fond of. It looks 10x better in the pictures when used on suits and whatnot but now it has some sort of plastic shine to it. I'm not sure how to explain it... Anywho I'm really not liking the black so I need some help.

I have a picture posted below of some stuff I just sort of scribbled down. I'm really only planning on the head and tail (and arms but I took that part out because it was hilariously bad) and feet. Basically, a partial. Again, I'm just using this for the head at the moment, the rest of it I was too lazy to clip out for now.

I know I'm not going to find a near black in the type of fur that I want so I'm going with pure black. I've only made it dark gray so that I could see the black outline. Anywho, enough about that...

I was thinking about using monkey shag for the hood and long black parts. I have a swatch of white and the flow and texture are perfect. I wanted to know if it would be an alright idea to make the hood and longer parts with this material though as I know it's kind of thin. Also, since I know nothing about furs outside of luxury shag/DF shag I would like to know what sort of short, black fur would be best to use with this... I suppose I'd be alright with using luxury shag but it just tends to look nasty too quickly, it's hard to shave down, and it just doesn't have the look I'd like... I was thinking seal, but I just wanted to check with others first.

Also, if you have any other suggestions for a long fur (3+ inches) that comes in black do share and thank you in advance~
