Hey folks,
I am trying to do the hidden zipper via Matrices' method, which demands that the center fur not be cut until AFTER the zipper is installed. I'm not sure if it's possible with the way my fur markings are designed because a contiguous piece of the shape required cannot be cut from the fur:
As you can see, the inner fur must follow the crotch curve, so I can't seem to cut a piece where the center aligns and ALSO have the curve. I thought of one possible solution where I cut the curve separately and attach it, but the problem with that is that there is ZERO seam allowance on the body section and sewing that together causes an ugly bunching where the fabric below the end of the zipper must be pulled to meet the opposite side.
I just wondered if someone out there might see this and know immediately how to solve this problem, or if I should just put the dang zipper on the back of the bodysuit and be done with it (It can be done that way, as the back pattern doesn't encroach on the crotch curve), OR if I should use an alternative method of front-zippering (such as a large seam allowance, folded under and butted-up against one another similar to how normal jacket/hoodie zippers are sewn?
