Heyas! Ive been curious lately.... For a long time without asking and shall now.
*what is the best / favorite / home made / or good durable clays to use on noses and teeth?
I have tried moldable plastic....
Good: gets soft when heated, most durable
Bad: hard to form, cant get good shapes, hardens too fast, hard to make paint stay on unless coated lots of times.
Sculpey
Good: super smooth and easy to form, durable
Bad: have to bake, can burn if over baked or turn brown
Paper clay from store
Good: its my favorite. Lets you work with it for a loooong time before its dry. Can be moistened with water, easy to paint and mold.
Bad: i havent found any bad things about it.
Has anyone made paper clay and had the same durability as store bought paperclay? And yes i know most of you will say to find the best clay requires you to work with it and try it out. What are some more good options i can mess with or have input on? :-)
What i havent tried and hope to try: resin, silicone and plasti dip...
Note on plastidip: i've applied this with a sponge brush before on top of fleece.... It turned out very rough and not smooth. Is it because of the surface or the brush method? Is it really shiny and smooth if diped properly or is it rough? I would assume its smooth if dipped, but i dont know how it turned out rough from spraying directly from a can on the fleece and trying to brush it on the fleece from a dipping can....
*whats the best clear coating for over painted foot bottoms? Ill say for over the rug bottom material both for sandals and for feet...is anything durable enough?
